6 tips to set up your goals in 2024

Setting up goals can be a challenging task. However, if you follow a guideline, it will be transformed into a pleasure task.
Every year, we all set goals to be accomplished during the year that starts. Different goals are written down for infinity purposes, but all are related. We can say that because all goals will always be connected to becoming healthier, improving performance, being fit, etc. Even if you aim to earn more money, we understand you will succeed with good habits and a perfect routine.

S pecific - The goals must be specific

Set up your routine.
Maybe you don’t know yet, but your routine is what will lead you to your results. Without a good routine, your days will be a mess, and it will be hard to keep on track with everything that you must have to do.
When you don’t have a routine, it is easier for you to procrastinate hard work, skip the diet, and so on. That’s the reason why we always talk about routine here at Athleon.
Your Habits will make the difference.
Habits are related to routine, but habits are what you do “automatically,” things you usually do not think about acting. For example, when you go to work, it is normal to not think about the way because you do it every day, so it becomes automatic.
Create new habits such as being more active and healthier, drinking more water, stopping smoke, etc. It is something that, at the beginning, is very hard because those “bad” habits are part of your habits, so you have to start with small actions to change them.
One very simple example:
If you need to drink more water, always having a bottle of water near you is an excellent way to start this. Always make sure that your water bottle is full and reachable. After around 60 days of doing this, you will see that drinking a good amount of water will be part of your habits, and you’ll not worry more about it.

Be surrounded by the right people.
Have you ever felt that you are not part of one group? This feeling is sometimes easy to realize, but in some situations, it is harder.
Let’s explain this situation: Remember one day when you were hanging around with your friends, but every time you were with them, you felt that maybe you would be better in a different place with different people. Day by day, you feel more alone, even walking with many people, because you realize you no longer have the same goals. Because they like to smoke, drink and don’t care about their health, and now you have decided to focus on your health.

In this situation, this group of friends is still your friend, but you don’t share the same goals. So, it is time to find new friends who share your goals. And when you find them, you will see that your new journey will start to reach the final goal. This happens because your new group of friends will help you to develop your best for that moment. For example, instead of being awake until late, they will motivate you to go to bed early because you must go to the gym before the next day.
So, it is essential to have the right people around you to motivate and develop your best every single day.
Please pay attention. This does not mean that your old friends aren’t good friends; they are still good friends, but they share different goals that don’t match with you at this moment.
Eat with purpose.
In this era, overeating is the rule. You are eating more food than you need for many different reasons. For example, to socialize with your friends, to celebrate what you conquered or a holiday, etc. There are several different reasons that society created to stimulate you to overeat. The big problem is that, over time, this action will be transformed into obesity and other diseases.
If you are inside this, a good way to live this vicious is to start to eat with a purpose. And what does it mean? This means eating for something with a specific goal (SMART). For example, eat before your workout to give you the energy to perform well, have a good breakfast to introduce excellent nutrients after a long period without food and start your day healthy.
You don’t need to eat more than your body requests; if you are having dinner with friends, it doesn’t mean you need to overeat just to continue chatting with them. You can finish your meal on a normal day and stay at the table talking; if keeping the plate in front of you triggers eating more, take the plate out and ask for coffee, juice, or more water. Do whatever you think helps you avoid eating more than necessary.
Let your body recover.
After a very stressful day, you must let your body recover for the next day. This is one of the most important things to perform well every single day. People think that body recovery is just for athletes, but they are wrong; body recovery is for every person who leads their body to some type of stress. This stress could be from working hard, an extreme workout routine, mental stress from a family conflict, etc.
I believe that you want to perform well every single day, right? So, you must let your body recover from the stimulus received.
One of the most essential parts of your recovery will come from a good night of sleep. Having excellent sleep quality is vital for your recovery because it is during your sleep time that your body is able to produce the hormones necessary to develop a good recovery.
